Help Little Dean meet his idol!
A fundraiser has been started by an outstandingly sweet and giving member of the Supernatural community to help Keillan (the star of the video) and his mother get an opportunity that would otherwise never be available to them: meeting Jensen Ackles, Keillan’s idol!
Keillan nails Jensen’s “Eye of the Tiger” performance move-for-move; we all know what that kind of devotion to a character or person is like! So now can you imagine what it would have meant to you if you were given the chance to meet your idol when you were a child? It’s a memory that you’d have held on to forever!
On the website, the founder of the fundraiser writes:
Keillan’s mother is a nurse with seven children. She pays her bills and gives everything to her family, but has never even been on vacation. She would love for Keillan to meet his idol, Jensen Ackles, but would never be able to do this on her own.
What do we need? Money to get them to a convention (air fare), a place to stay, tickets to get them in, one Jensen Ackles photo op, one Jensen Ackles autograph ticket.
You may have seen similar posts before this one, and that’s because the goal dates have been extended to try to reach the amount necessary. The original goal was to be able to give everything needed to Keillan and his mother for Christmas, and then when that was not doable, his birthday. But both dates have passed, and we are still only a quarter of the way to the goal amount. This is an incredible project, and every single dollar helps. It’s easy to raise tens of thousands of dollars in a day for someone’s life-saving surgery. This is not a matter of life and death. You’re right. But it will literally change this little boy’s life.
He’s never going to get to meet Jensen if we can’t help him get there. Like a lot of us, there’s no way his mom can afford such a luxury. But this kid gave a lot to this fandom with his video. We’re going to watch that forever, and coo over how frickin’ cute he is and how perfectly he mimicked Jensen’s moves.
Let this kid be the ambassador for all the fans who’ll never be able to afford to go to a con. Let’s get him there while he’s a little boy, where something like this will stick with him for the rest of his days.
